A WORD FROM THE PRESIDENT......
I would like to thank members of Chapter 60 for giving me the opportunity to serve as your President. I especially want to thank President-Elect Robin Stinson and Secretary -Treasurer Steve Jankowski who both stepped aside in the officer rotation and allowed me to re enter the position I left behind when I took a brief career detour to Pennsylvania.
In the year 2000 IREM established and approved a mission statement that succinctly describes the value and significance of our organization.
Core Values We believe:
- That management matters…that good management translates into value…that well-managed
properties improve the quality of life for the people who live, work, and shop in them
- In professional ethics
- In the power of knowledge…and the importance of sharing it
Core Purpose IREM exists:
- To help real estate managers prosper and add value to their companies and the properties they manage
- To advance the stature of real estate management
Envisioned Future IREM will be the first choice of real estate management professionals
- Professional property managers will come to IREM – and stay with IREM – because it
enhances their prosperity
- IREM will be the dominant gateway to real estate management knowledge
- Real estate owners will seek out professional managers to manage their properties
- People will realize their lives are improved by living, working, and shopping in
professionally managed properties
- My goal for 2002 is to contribute to our core purpose and help managers prosper,
add value and enhance the stature of the real estate management business. Simply
stated I want our Chapter to create value for you.
There are so many things we want to do this year. We want to hold a Security and Emergency Planning Seminar. We want to have tours of leading edge properties such as the Waverly project. We want to produce comprehensive Income and Expense surveys of the Orlando market. We plan to provide educational opportunities for new and upcoming managers; Hold a seminar on the use of technology in our business; Hold a budget fair where our members have access to vendors and other professionals to assist them with their annual budgets. And provide a Career Center for members in transition and members in need of professional managers.
I don’t know if our Chapter will be able to accomplish all of these plans but I do know that to do so we will need you. We need your active support and I invite you to find ways to contribute. There are so many ways you can participate and make our Chapter and our profession stronger. Please take a moment and fill out the volunteer form attached to this link. Email it back to Meridythe Kanaga at admin@centralfl.org.
