YOUR FUTURE IN IREM
As April approaches, I have already started
thinking about our leadership for 2002. As some of you may know, each
August, IREM National hosts a regional leadership training session for each
chapter’s incoming president and president-elect. In addition
to those two people, we budgeted to have one additional person (presumably
our incoming secretary-treasurer) attend.
I mention all this because our chapter is looking
for new people to help us grow and better serve our members. Have you
considered getting involved in our chapter? Maybe you should be at that
leadership conference. Maybe you’re just not sure if there’s
anything you really want to do. Call me and let’s talk about it.
I can’t begin to tell you how much personal satisfaction I get from
my involvement in this chapter. There is not a person in the organization
who I can say I have not enjoyed talking with, learning what they do, seeing
if I can help them, or maybe doing some business with them.
Following our monthly Executive Council meeting
on Thursday April 5th, which starts at 8:00 AM, we will hold a mid-year review
of our goals and objectives. More importantly, we will look at our leadership
plans for 2002. The meeting will be held at the CNL Center, 450 S.
Orange Avenue, 9th Floor. I hope you can join us.

THE ORLANDO CHAPTER SHINES AGAIN
As this newsletter is going to press,
we have been informed that IREM Central Florida Chapter #60 will be receiving
an award at IREM’s National Conference in Washington this coming
May for Outstanding Progress for a Chapter. This is well-deserved recognition
for Scott Pollock, CPM, who led our chapter last year as President and made
great progress in meeting so many of the ambitious goals he set out at the
beginning of his term.
This is in addition to the award the chapter received
in November from Libby McEwen, CPM, our Regional Vice President, for Chapter
of the Year, which recognizes the best chapter within our region (Florida
and Georgia).
Congratulations, Scott. Thanks for all your hard
work.
