Dear
members,
It's hard to believe that more than half of my term as your president is now over. There is still so much that we want to accomplish this year and in the years that will follow. Planning is now beginning for committees and leadership positions for the coming year, so that smooth transitions can occur between leaders later this year. I invite anyone who would like to get a little more involved in the chapter's business activities to contact myself, Pedro Vermales, or any other board member to see how we can match up your interests with our greatest needs. There is something for everyone, so don't hesitate to explore the possibilities!
One of this year's goals was to have a joint meeting with practitioners from other real estate organizations. Plans are currently underway for a joint meeting on September 20th with BOMA and the CCIM Institute. Because of this joint meeting in September, which is normally where we conduct our annual elections to determine our incoming chapter officers, we are moving our annual meeting up to July of this year. This will provide the incoming officers with more time to ensure a smooth transition between people.
It is my honor and privilege to present to you our 2007 slate of officers:
Pedro Vermales - President Kathy Shepherd - President-Elect Kevin Grail - Secretary/Treasurer
Changes were also made to the requirements needed to qualify for Emeritus membership status. Additional options have been developed that will enable semi-retired or long-term members with service to the institute at both the local and national levels to qualify for Emeritus status sooner than previously allowed. Please watch for additional details to see if you might qualify under the new guidelines going into effect next year!
We will be voting on this proposed slate of officers at our July 18th meeting. If you will be unable to attend the meeting you may submit your ballot by e-mail. We are excited about the possibilities and experience these people bring to our chapter, and are certain they will do great things for our chapter! Please attend our July meeting and vote for your next leadership team.
Enthusiastically, Ann Reisch President, Chapter 60

| IREM Chapter 60 May Meeting
|
|
Special thanks to Philip Medina, a nationally recognized authority in the telecommunications industry and president of KeyCom. Mr. Medina gave the IREM members an extremely informative presentation at the May luncheon on how technology is constantly evolving. The world of telecommunications can be very confusing, which is why a company like Mr. Medina’s can turn the confusion into solutions. The Central Florida based company received top 20 honors for technology firms and has earned nearly 4,000 business clients in Central Florida region alone. Mr. Medina’s presentation opened the IREM members' eyes to all the emerging technologies and new trends for 2006.
