 President's Message

Dear members,

I hope that you enjoyed your holiday season and are now ready to approach the coming year with new resolutions and renewed enthusiasm. Within our chapter we are getting ready to kick off the Star Recognition Program in an effort to create opportunities to get involved, to get to know one another better, and most importantly, to have fun! It is our goal, that as a result, we will offer some fresh new ideas and create more meaningful chapter experiences for you to enjoy. I would like to take this opportunity to detail this program a little further.

In an effort to strengthen all of the local IREM chapters around the country, IREM headquarters surveyed the chapters to identify characteristics of a successful, effective chapter. This information has been incorporated into the Star Recognition Program, which serves as a guide for the chapter leaders to provide valuable member services and programs. Each chapter has the opportunity to implement as many of these programs as possible and will be evaluated at the end of the year based upon its efforts. Accordingly, each chapter will receive a "star rating" much like the hotels receive.....a 3-star, 4-star or 5-star rating. Of course your leadership team has determined that we will strive to become a "5-star" chapter, but we need your help!

Components of the Star Recognition Program fall into three core areas: leadership programs, administrative activities, and member involvement and services. Within each of these areas there are requirements that we must meet and elective activities that we may choose to accomplish. A point system has been developed so that all chapters can be evaluated accordingly. While our chapter has been delivering many of these programs in the past, there is always more that we can do with your participation.

For those of you who would like to learn more or get a little more plugged in to the chapter's activities, please join us for our first conference call to discuss how we will roll out this program. It is scheduled for Friday, January 20th at 9:00 am. For more information about this program, I invite you to contact me by phone at 407-926-8275 or by e-mail at areisch@earthlink.net.

In closing, I would like to thank you all for your commitments, energy, and enthusiasm. I look forward to a great year ahead!

Enthusiastically,

Ann Reisch
President, Chapter 60
